A composition comprising novel black ginseng leaf and the extract thereof is provided to reduce the preparation time as compared with the conventional processing processes and increase anti-oxidative activity as compared with the conventional processed ginseng roots, so that the black ginseng leaf and its extract are mass produced. A method for preparing the black ginseng leaf having water content of 14% or less comprises the steps of: washing 4-6 year-old ginseng leaves with water and drying them at 40-60 deg. C for 20-28 hours; steaming the dried ginseng leaves at 85-105 deg. C for 2-4 hours; drying the steamed ginseng leaves at 50-70 deg. C for 9-15 hours; and repeating the steaming and drying steps 9 times. The extract of black ginseng leaf is prepared by dipping pulverized ginseng leaf in water for 3-7 hours, and extracting the dipped ginseng leaf with water, C1-4 lower alcohol or a mixed solvent thereof. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treatment of skin diseases caused by oxidative stresses comprises the black ginseng leaf or the extract thereof.
