ACTIVATED CARBON FOR REMOVING GAS-PHASE ELEMENTAL MERCURY

PURPOSE: Activated carbon and a method for eliminating hydrargyrum using the same are provided to effectively eliminate hydrargyrum elements from flue gas by using the activated carbon. CONSTITUTION: The BET specific surface area of activated carbon with a chlorine deposited surface is between 660.86 and 667.57 m^2/g. The activated carbon is used for eliminating hydrargyrum elements. 2000 to 4000ug of the hydrargyrum elements are absorbed to 1g of the activated carbon. A method for eliminating hydrargyrum includes the following: the activated carbon is in contact with the hydrargyrum elements at a temperature between 80 and 140 degrees Celsius; and the hydrargyrum elements are absorbed on the surface of the activated carbon.
