A multipurpose and fusion gamma spectrometer system shielded background radiation in underground research tunnel

PURPOSE: A multi-purpose fusion gamma spectrometry system is provided to naturally shield a spaceship and additionally shield the background of a spaceship by simultaneously installing a manual shielding unit and an anticoincidence system in an underground research facility. CONSTITUTION: A multi-purpose fusion gamma spectrometry system(10) comprises a high-purity Ge detector(11), a special shielding unit(12), an anticoincidence circuit(13), an electronic device(14), and an analyzing unit(15). The special shielding unit and the anticoincidence circuit manually remove the background. The electronic unit controls each element. The analyzing unit analyzes information detected. The multi-purpose fusion gamma spectrometry system selectively comprises a Compton scattering removing unit(16). The detector and the shielding unit are formed using a low-level material to reduce the background by a radioactive material existing in the system.
