The method involves determining the direction of ground faults in a compensated phase network by considering zero phase active energy or zero sequence reactive energy system. The active energy in zero-sequence system is determined using zero-sequence active power, residual voltage and ground current. An independent claim is included for apparatus for determining ground-fault isolation in electric three-phase network.
