The method involves detecting a climate characteristic e.g. temperature and/or relative humidity, in a lacquer finish booth (1). A mixing ratio of components of paint e.g. two-component paint, is controlled based on the detected climate characteristic in the lacquer finish booth. The climate characteristic is controlled in the lacquer finish booth such that small amount of power is consumed for air-conditioning of the lacquer finish booth. An external air (3) is heated and cooled by an air supply system (2) such that the relative humidity of the supplied air is changed. An independent claim is also included for a paint application device comprising a lacquer finish booth.
