Method for determining driving of foreign vehicle i.e. motor car, ahead on track of own vehicle i.e. motor car, involves determining whether foreign vehicle drives ahead of own vehicle when spacing falls below given threshold value
The method involves measuring position (3c) of a foreign motor vehicle (3) in a coordinate system to a given point of time referred to an own motor vehicle (2), and monitoring development of spacing between the own vehicle and the measured position. A determination is made that whether the foreign vehicle drives ahead of the own vehicle when spacing falls below a given threshold value. Course of the own vehicle is measured based on measurements of velocity and yaw rate or yaw rate related measurement. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an automatic cruise control (ACC) device for a motor car (2) a computer program product comprising a set of instructions to perform a method for determining driving of a foreign vehicle.
