The composite material comprises a three-dimensional sponge structure such as a sponge material or sponge-like material, and a bonding material, which binds and/or stabilizes the sponge structure. The bonding material is a plastic material or a resin material such as polyester resin or epoxy resin. The volume fraction of cavities on the volume of the composite material is 20%, 30%, 40%, 60% or 80%. The composite material is a fiber composite material, where fibers are distributed within the sponge structure. A portion of the fibers is distributed within the sponge structure in a spiral shape. The composite material comprises a three-dimensional sponge structure such as a sponge material or sponge-like material, and a bonding material, which binds and/or stabilizes the sponge structure. The bonding material is a plastic material or a resin material such as polyester resin or epoxy resin. The volume fraction of cavities on the volume of the composite material is 20%, 30%, 40%, 60% or 80%. The composite material is a fiber composite material, where fibers are distributed within the sponge structure. A portion of the fibers is distributed within the sponge structure in a spiral shape or helical shape and/or a portion of the fibers is distributed within the sponge structure as a fleece-like or balls of wool-like material. The bonding material binds the fibers of the sponge structure and/or the fibers are connected themselves. The fibers exhibit a preferred direction in the sponge structure. A part of the surface of the sponge structure is arranged as a flat support such as a clutch, a textile fabric structure or a mat. The surface support is connected with the surface of the sponge structure with the bonding material. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a device made from a composite material and shell elements.
