The platform lift (13) has a loading platform (16), a hoisting gear (14) for lifting, lowering and pivoting the loading platform and mounting units for mounting the hoisting gear in the vehicle. The loading platform and the hoisting gear are movable relative to the vehicle. A part of the mounting unit, particularly a supporting tube is movable relative to the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a platform lift.
