The device has an analog or digital acoustic recording apparatus that is utilized for recording of soothing words/sounds/singsong of parents. An environment of typical baby noises e.g. cries, is monitored by utilizing a set of microphones. A reproduction of audio recordings individually created by the parents is started when a defined threshold is reached. The threshold for the start of the reproduction of the audio recordings can be adjusted by a user. An algorithm is adjusted such that the reproduction can take place in a random, uniform or round robin manner.
