Composite comprises 90-99.9 vol.% of metallic material with transformation induced plasticity/twinning induced plasticity properties, and 10-0.1 vol.% of ceramic component, which has in situ volume change through new chemical phase formation and/or phase decomposition in the solid condition. An independent claim is included for the preparation of the composite with residual porosity comprising molding the metal based, ceramic particle containing initial material, where the initial material contains 0.5-10 vol.% of ceramic particle, and subsequently sintering through new chemical phase formation and/or phases decomposition under volume change.
