The method involves gradually alternating an energy landscape of predetermined optimization problem in combination with an optimization procedure with minor barriers. A threshold value is maintained to be constant and slightly modified, and transition probabilities for an optimization procedure are calculated from probability distribution of gains and losses of a portfolio by a cost function. The optimization problem is analogically examined by phase transitions for a physical system, and precursor effects for the phase transition are utilized as an indication point. An independent claim is also included for a method for optimizing a wind power plant or portfolio.
