The device has a movable suction channel (8) made of material for withstanding physical and chemical properties of gases. The suction channel is thermally decoupled from a hood arm (3) and/or a bearing bridge in a rotating hood ring (2), where the suction channel is not in direct contact with the rotating hood ring. The suction channel is surrounded in the region of the rotating hood ring radially outside by a tubular carrying casing. The suction channel is a straight tube piece with a mounting flange at an upstream end of the suction channel. An independent claim is also included for a method for disassembling a covering device.
