The method involves detecting a variable, which characterizes current, voltage, resistance of a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) element during operation of a heating device (18). A conductance is formed from detected values as a quotient of current and voltage. A predictor is formed from the conductance based on time as an integral of the conductance. The predictor is evaluated for concluding a temperature of a medium. The conductance is used at beginning of measurement for calibration of temperature measurement. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising instructions for performing a method for measuring temperature of a medium (2) a temperature sensor for a container with medium.
