The pump has a pump element comprising a pump piston formed by rotation of a drive shaft i.e. cam shaft, about a rotational axis around a cam and the pump piston arranged at the drive shaft. A plunger component (9) comprises a plunger body (10) which is received in a housing bore (8). A plunger body guide is adapted to cooperate with the plunger body in convex shape which is provided with the housing bore in cylindrical/concave shape, or cooperate with the plunger body in cylindrical shape which is provided with the housing bore in convex shape.
