The apparatus (1) has a refrigerant vaporizer (5) cooling a vehicle inner space to be supplied with air. An electrical heating body (8) and a positive temperature coefficient heating device (9) warm the vehicle inner space. A peltier element (10) is arranged within an air duct (14) in a direction of air stream in front of the refrigerant vaporizer and/or with respect to a fan (4). The peltier element comprises a warm side (11) and a cold side (12) for dehumidifying the air, where the warm and cold sides are arranged within the air duct and/or a housing (2). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an air conditioning apparatus of a motor vehicle.
