Method for designing chewing surface in dental prosthesis to simulate jaw joint movements in patient, involves modifying tolerance to chewing surface design based on wax registrates so that tolerance movements are incorporated in prosthesis
The method involves programming an additional tolerance up to 0.8 mm in simulated chewing movement paths (2-6) in lateral directions of all movement combinations. The tolerance is modified to a chewing surface design by scanning based on functional wax registrates in mouth so that the tolerance movements are incorporated in a dental prosthesis and its chewing surface design in CAD- and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) processes.
