The method involves removing partial flows (45, 46) of a circuit nitrogen flow from a circuit compressor (22), and partially liquefying the flow in a sump vaporizer (9) of a high pressure column (8). The flow is reverted into a distilling column system for nitrogen-oxygen separation. Another partial flow of circuit nitrogen flow is diverted upstream and/or downstream the circuit compressor and/or of an intermediate stage of the compressor under product pressure, and obtained as a compressed nitrogen product (27). The compressor is formed as a warm compressor and driven by external energy. An independent claim is also included for a device for recovering compressed oxygen and compressed nitrogen by low temperature degradation of air in a distilling column system for nitrogen-oxygen separation.
