The pressure-tolerant camera has a camera housing filled with an optically transparent liquid (6), and an optical imaging device formed with a lens system. The refractive index of the lens system changes according to the pressure changes in the optically transparent liquid. The automatically compensating correction system has collection and diverging lenses (1,2) fixed to one another. The mutually associated surfaces (3,4) of the collection and diverging lenses are connected with each other without a gap.
