The driving belt has an elastic base portion made of polymeric material, which comprises an upper sheet and a substructure (15) with force transfer region which includes non-slip fabric coating. A continuous closure (11) comprises fabric ends (12,13) which are joined together by a joint (14). A joint bridging connecting strip (16) is arranged between the fabric ends and substructure. The connecting strip is a textile sheet whose mesh size is set to make the polymeric material of substructure to penetrate. An independent claim is included for method for manufacturing driving belt.
