The drive-axle has a transfer case (1) connected with a transmission output shaft (2) at an input side and with drive shafts (3, 4) an output side for driving associated vehicle wheels (5, 6). The drive shafts are connected with the vehicle wheels over respective planetary drives (7, 8), and with respective braking devices (11, 12). Each drive shaft is assigned to electrical machines (13, 14) for assisting a steering operation, so that the electric machines are directly or indirectly connected with the drive shafts between the transfer case and the planetary drives.
