The method involves cleaning a gas stream of a lifting cylinder combustion engine. A flow of gas occurs in a wet deposition of oil droplets lying in a range such that the flow is cleaned and atomized such that another set of oil droplets with a middle droplet size lie in another range. The middle droplet size is larger in the latter range. The latter set of droplets are introduced into a gas stream for locating the stream between the two sets of droplets such that collisions between the former set of droplets occur when the latter set of droplets are separated to a large extent from the flow. An independent claim is also included for an oil mist separator for an engine oil mist loaded leakage gas flow of a combustion engine.
