The channel (1) has a drainage surface (2), drainage recesses (6), two side walls (3.1, 3.2) and bottom (5), where the drainage surface and the side walls are provided in single-piece. The bottom is firmly bonded and connected with the side walls. The side walls comprise an inlet opening (7), where wall thickness (D1) of one of the side walls is different than wall thickness (D2) of the other side wall. The drainage surface and the side walls are manufactured as a cast part that is made of polyester concrete. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a drainage channel.
