The cylinder (1) has a weld ring (1.1) connected with a housing. A piston rod (2) protruded from an end-side aperture (1.3) is guided into the housing. The aperture is sealed by a sealing element (4) fastened at the piston rod and the weld ring. A ring (3) is arranged on the piston rod. The sealing element is connected with the ring, which is formed with a circulating groove (3.1). The sealing element is cylindrically formed with an endside wave-like stage in a radial direction. An inner wall of the sealing element is provided with projections (4.2, 4.3) in end areas of the sealing element. The sealing element and the ring are made of plastic.
