The device has optoelectronic components (1, 2) i.e. photo transistors, shadowed relative to each other by an optical separation device (3). Incident solar radiation reaches one of the optoelectronic components for providing unique control signals for controlling a motor-driven two-axis tracking device. Direct solar radiation reaches one of the optoelectronic components. The other optoelectronic component is arranged independent of the condition of the sun by a corresponding design of the separation device so that the direct solar radiation never reaches the latter optoelectronic component.
