The system has an operation unit (10) including a control element (15) for performing manual adjustment of functions and/or function parameters (1-7, Opt) of the vehicle components along a control direction, where selection of function parameters is activated by pressing the control element. A display unit displays the functions and/or function parameters in a symbolic display, which is designed as a linear slider in an edge area of the display unit. The symbolic display is coordinated to a manual traveling direction of the control element.
