COMPLEMENTARY RADAR SYSTEM FOR THE DETECTION OF LOW ALTITUDE EVOLVING TARGETS ABOVE A WINDWATER FIELD

The system has elements i.e. transmitters (11) or receivers (12) with a echo elimination unit mounted on some of wind turbines, where the elements jointly realize a coverage of a portion of an airspace located above a field of wind turbines. A number and a position of the elements are a function of a number of the wind turbines and a surface occupied by the wind turbines. Each element comprises an antenna directed towards a zenith arranged to present an omnidirectional radiation diagram in azimuth. Signals such as periodic impulses and continuous waves, are emitted by the elements.
