The armchair (1) has an adjusting unit (30) formed of telescopic arms (31) and positioned between an upper part (10) and a lower part (20). The adjusting unit adjusts the height of the upper part with respect to the lower part in a rest position (P1) and an active position, such that the armchair permits transportation of a patient in the rest position and administration of ambulatory treatment in the active position. The upper part receives the patient in seating state and inclined state i.e. Trendelenburg state, or anti-Trendelenburg state, in the rest and active positions, respectively. The upper part, the lower part and the adjusting unit are partially made of steel.
