The method involves obtaining a digital target image of a face, and identifying the reference points corresponding to the points of target image area to define a spatial imperfection typical case. A test is carried out in the target image area for detecting spatial imperfection. A spatial correction mask to be applied to the area of the image with imperfection is identified automatically. The mask is applied on the pertinent area of the target image. An independent claim is also included for an image processing system.
