The extinguisher (2) has a fire protection enclosure (30) provided with an opening (34). A charging slot (32) is formed inside the enclosure to receive a battery. A tank (56) is provided with a container for containing a granular fireproof material. A pyrotechnic releasing device (58) releases the material on the slot in response to detection of departure of fire or preliminary anomaly operation of the battery. The releasing device is provided with an explosive load that is exploded in response to the detection of departure of fire or anomaly operation of the battery.
