The method involves recovering a set of characteristic points (310, 312, 314, 316, 410, 412, 414, 416) of a candidate image (50) and a reference image (51), and cutting the candidate image in a zone (322). An item with same co-ordinates is pointed in the reference image. A set of personal details is allotted to two groups of characteristic points. Each of the two groups of characteristic points is displayed on the candidate image and the reference image with the allotted personal details. An independent claim is also included for a device for using a comparison of a set of characteristic points of a candidate image with a set of characteristic points of a reference image.
