Use of an active extract of Pisum sativum, rich in protein, in a cosmetic formulation, is claimed, where the extract acts on keratinocyte stem cells; or simultaneously acts in combination with markers that are protein p63, integrin alpha -6 and clonogenicity of keratinocyte stem cells. Independent claims are included for: (1) obtaining the active extract, comprising solubilizing Pisum sativumseeds powder in water, enzymatic hydrolysis using a protease, separating the soluble and insoluble phases, inactivating the enzyme activities by heat treatment, and filtration with filter presses and sterilizing filtration; and (2) a formulation in the form of cosmetic composition such as gel, emulsion or cream, comprising Pisum sativum(0.01-20 (preferably 1-3) wt.%).
