The umbrella (1) has a slide ring (4) slidably mounted on a mast (2). A set of ribs (603) supports anti-laceration fabric (604), and another set of ribs (602) is provided with the slide ring in an integral manner. The latter set of ribs extends or retracts the anti-laceration fabric upon displacement of the slide ring on the mast. The slide ring has a support piece i.e. slide, with grooves. The grooves accommodate one end of the latter set of ribs mounted pivotably by solid metal pins (601), where each pin is extended perpendicularly to an axis of the latter set of ribs.
