摘要
This application relates to a device adapted for remedying the potentially harmful effect on humans of RF transmissions. The device includes sensing means, such as an antenna (30, Fig. 1) for monitoring radiation generated by an RF emitting device such as a mobile handset. An output signal from the sensing means is input to detecting means (32, 34, Fig. 1) for confirming the presence of radiation. When radiation is detected the detector outputs a signal to control means (26, Fig. 1) of a remedial signal generator (86, Fig. 1). The control means monitors the signal 60 for a first predetermined time period which is sufficiently long to indicate that transmissions from the handset may be potentially harmful. When it is determined that there are potentially harmful emissions over the first predetermined period of time, the remedial signal generator is triggered to generate a noise signal for a second predetermined period of time 66. The noise signal is used to generate an electromagnetic field in the vicinity of the RF radiation and thus mitigate any potentially harmful effects. This field is sometimes referred to as a confusion field in the prior art.
