PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monomer/liquid crystal mixture from which a polymer/liquid crystal composite improved in density unevenness can be obtained, and to provide a liquid crystal element having stability to heat, light and the like, showing a short response time, a large contrast and a low driving voltage, and having a uniform polymer-stabilized blue phase free of density unevenness in a wide temperature range including low temperature, by using a polymer/liquid crystal composite obtained by polymerizing the monomer/liquid crystal mixture.;SOLUTION: The monomer/liquid crystal mixture is obtained by mixing an optically isotropic liquid crystal composition comprising an achiral liquid crystal component A and a chiral compound K with at least one polymerizable monomer represented by general formula (1), wherein, for example, Ra is linear 1-30C alkyl; Rb is linear 1-30C alkylene; ring A1 is 1,4-phenylene; X1 is -O-; and P1 represents an acrylic group.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
