PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for controlling the operation of a vapor compression system so that a heat load of operation is satisfied, and the performance of the system is optimized.SOLUTION: A method for operating a vapor compression system 200 includes steps for: correcting each control signal of a pair of control signals using a correction signal corresponding to a pair of correction signals; and figuring out a measurement reference signal showing perturbation in the system 200 caused by the pair of correction signals. The correction signals include perturbation signals, and the perturbation signals have different frequencies. The method then adjusts a value of each of the correction signals based on a function of a phase between the correction signals and a frequency component corresponding to the measured reference signal.
