PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power-saving liquid crystal display device by suppressing luminance for elongating a viewing time.;SOLUTION: When a residual time for a battery residual amount at a luminance 1 in (1) becomes "3 minutes" of "viewing residual time (t1)", the liquid crystal display device displays "10" on an LED backlight at a luminance level where a video can be displayed till "10 minutes" of "an extended time (t2)" as shown in a step 1 in (2). Secondly, the luminance level is changed to a level where the video can be displayed till "10 minutes" of "the extended time (t2)" as shown in a step 2 in (2), and the video is displayed. Thirdly, at the luminance 2 in (1), when the residual time for the battery residual amount becomes "3 minutes" of "the viewing residual time (t1), "10" is displayed on the LED backlight at a luminance level where the video can be displayed till "10 minutes" of "the extended time (t2)" as shown in a step 3 in (2). Lastly, the luminance level is changed to a level where the video can be displayed till "10 minutes" of "the extended time (t2)" as shown in a step 4 in (2), and the video is displayed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
