PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric motor that hardly causes a reduction in performance due to continuous driving thereof.;SOLUTION: A vibration body that is formed of a material containing a piezoelectric material and is provided with a protrusion portion on an end surface is accommodated in an accommodation case and is held by a holding portion interposed between the vibration body and the accommodation case. Further, an object is driven by bringing the protrusion portion into contact with the object, applying a driving voltage to the vibration body and causing the vibration body to perform stretching vibration and bending vibration. Thus, a temperature rise of the vibration body can be suppressed with the result that heat escapes to the accommodation case via the holding portion even when the driving voltage is applied to the vibration body and the vibration body is heated. On account of this, a reduction in performance of a piezoelectric motor due to the temperature rise of the vibration body can be suppressed even when continuous driving of the piezoelectric motor is performed for a long period of time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
