PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide catastrophic loss protection for a property via a catastrophic hazard protection mortgage.;SOLUTION: A method may include receiving a CHP mortgage application and data from an owner with typical mortgage industry application data such as owner financial information, real property identification, the amount of loan, and the like. Catastrophe hazard risk data may be obtained for a real property (or for the one or more structures on the real property) for which the owner wishes to have catastrophe hazard protection. The catastrophe hazard risk data may include parameters such as the structure type, structure the replacement cost, the structure address, the structure square footage, the building cost inflation index, and a measure of owner risk retention.
