PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an active titanium oxide carrier which can carry a platinum group metal or an alloy of a platinum group metal and other metals finely and uniformly in a high-dispersion state and has no problem in safety and ecology.;SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the titanium oxide carrier which carries the platinum group metal (a) or the alloy of the platinum group metal (a) and other metals (b) is characterized by bringing the titanium oxide carrier into contact with a solution containing a salt of an organic carboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, lactic acid, oxalic acid, malonic acid and maleic acid and the platinum group metal (a), and in some cases a salt of the organic carboxylic acid and the metals (b) other than the platinum group metal (a) in addition, causing the titanium oxide carrier to adsorb the metal salt and then converting the metal salt to the metal by reducing the metal salt.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
