PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus which has a structurally simple style and is improved to accurately measure a fiber bundle.;SOLUTION: The apparatus confirms the mass and/or mass variation of a fiber material such as at least one fiber sliver or fiber web of, for instance, cotton or synthetic fiber in a preprocessing machine for spinning such as a flat card, a roller card, a drawing frame and a fine carding machine. The fiber material is mechanically scanned with a contact element, and the displacement of the contact element is converted to an electric signal. The position of the contact element is detected by a non-contact distance sensor (proximity sensor). The distance sensor is an optical or acoustic sensor for the measurement of distance and connected to an electronic evaluation device to simplify the structure and installation work and improve the accuracy of the fiber bundle measurement.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
