To provide a polarizing plate surface-protecting film which has a peelable adhesive layer to the surface of a polarizing plate ON one side of a plastic film and does not float in a tunnel like and even when subjected to a thermal treatment process. SOLUTION: This polarizing plate surface-protecting film satisfies the following expressions (1) to (3) in the relation of the film with a polarizing plate to which the film is adhered. [F (MD) - P (MD)]+ [F (TD-P (TD)] =0.3(1), F (MD) - P (MD) =0.4(2), F (TD) - P (TD) =0.4(3) [F (MD) and F (TD) are the dimensional change rates of the polarizing plate surface-protecting film in its flow direction (MD) and width direction (TD), respectively; P (MD) and P (TD) are the dimensional change rates of the polarizing plate in its flow direction (MD) and width direction (TD), respectively.
