It is intended to provide a composition for controlling pests such as agriculturally and horticulturally harmful insects and house insects and sanitation insects. A pest controlling composition characterized by containing, as the active ingredients, a benzoylurea compound such as diflubenzuron, chlorfluazuron and flufenoxuron or hexaflumuron together with alpha- (alpha, alpha and alpha-trifluoro-m-toluoyl) - p-tolunitrile 4- (p-trifluoromethoxyphenyl) semicarbazone; and a method of controlling pests characterized by comprising applying such a composition to pests such as agriculturally and horticulturally harmful insects and house insects and sanitation insects.
