PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow reuse of information while properly considering issues of copyright and setting of information sharing range, by quickly and accurately understanding occurrence background of electronic files and acquisition route.;SOLUTION: Upon detecting that a new electronic file is preserved in an apparatus, a file attribute information acquiring means 3 acquires an attribute information of the file such as its source. A file attribute information holding means 4 manages the electronic file by making a file attribute information 9 corresponded to it. A file route information analyzing means 5 collates the attribute information of the source of the electronic file with an in-house information 10. It discriminates whether the source is within the organization or not, and supplies a source route attribute to the file. If the source of he electronic file is a file sharing apparatus 2, a file attribute information inquiry means 7 inquires about attribute information of the file at a file attribute information holding means 12 of the file sharing apparatus 2.
