PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic-horn design support system capable of solving a problem associated with a prior art method of designing an ultrasonic horn that it can merely evaluate an ultrasonic horn as a single item but cannot study its fabrication condition or the like although the characteristics of an ultrasonic horn need to be grasped more in detail and its optimum configuration, its exciting condition and its fabrication condition need to be studied as well for carrying out its precise microfabrication.;SOLUTION: The ultrasonic-horn design support system comprises a design-data processing unit 6 which is constituted of a means of determining the total length and the configuration of an ultrasonic horn, a means of preparing a model of an ultrasonic horn by a finite element method and carrying out an eigenvalue analysis thereof, a means of judging the presence or the absence of an eigenvalue a longitudinal vibration in the vicinity of the exciting frequency as a result of the eigenvalue analysis, a means of repeating the modification of its configuration and the eigenvalue analysis in the absence thereof and of obtaining the node of the longitudinal vibration of an ultrasonic horn using the result of the eigenvalue analysis if the eigenvalue of its longitudinal vibration is judged to be present in the vicinity of the exciting frequency, and a means of carrying out an impact analysis thereof by applying an ultrasonic input wave to be actually used on and around the obtained node to obtain a wave form of an output wave.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
