PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically set the level of a line device which is connected to a CATV system transmission path.;SOLUTION: The method is for setting the level of a signal (input/output signal) which is one or both of uplink signal and downlink signal, by adjusting device characteristic of a line device. The line device includes a level setting circuit and an electronic control part for level setting. A management terminal device connected to the line device transmits a set value to the line device. The electronic control part of the line device that has received the set value automatically adjusts the level setting circuit based on the set value. Thus, setting of the input/output level of the line device is automatically performed. Here, the management terminal device can also set, in addition to the level setting circuit of the line device, other setting circuits in the line device, and/or can set address of a status monitor, and can preserve and manage the set data transmitted to the line device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
