In the present invention, there is described a method of maintaining or increasing fertility of Less Favorable Areas (LFA) brought into rest and/or reclaimed refuse storage areas wherein the method is characterized by plantation of Hippophae rhamnoides in the LFA or on cover layers of the reclaimed refuse storage areas covered by a sheet.
