VERY LOW COST SOLAR THERMAL ENERGY POWERED DISTRIBUTED AND PORTABLE WATER DISTILLER AND SOLAR COOKER

This invention describes a very low cost solar thermal energy powered distributed and portable water distiller or purifier and solar cooker that is completely and totally powered by the sun. It consists of 1. a selective absorber based solar thermal energy collector. 2. a heat pipe based highly efficient heat collector and heat delivery system. 3. a raw input water container and evaporator chamber. 4. a steam condenser. 5. a waste or sludge remover. In . addition, it contains 1. an optional input water tank. 2. input washable filters. 3. an output water tank. 4. output water tap. 5. connectors and pipes. The solar thermal selective absorber based collector may be installed in a fixed position, or may be linked to an optional clock work based sun tracking system to further increase system efficiency. One embodiment of the device is capable of collecting 5 KWh of energy per sunny day, and distilling and purifying 20 litres of water per sunny day. The device may be scaled up to higher capacities, and corresponding dimensions, or it may be scaled down to lower capacities and corresponding dimensions. In addition, a separate food cooker or materials processor may replace the water purifier unit, to be placed upon the heat delivery unit, whereby the unit doubles up as a food cooker or thermal processor of food materials or other materials that require thermal processing.
