TECHNIQUE FOR PREPARATION OF ANTERIOR ABDOMINAL WALL FOR ACCESS TO ABDOMINAL AORTA IN EXPERIMENTAL ANIMALS

A technique for the preparation of the anterior abdominal wall for the access to the abdominal aorta in the experimental animals comprises the horizontal incision over the symphysis pubis followed by continuation of the incision line in cranio-ventral direction upward to the area of iliocostal muscles up to the lower edge of the costal arch. The incision is terminated in the area of the xiphoid process. The apron-shaped flap of the anterior abdominal wall is lifted and fixed with the clamp. The intestinal loops are moved to the left for exposing parietal peritoneum covering the posterior wall. The parietal layer of peritoneum is separated carefully with obtuse instrument exposing the abdominal aorta and vena cava inferior at the distance from diaphragm to the site of the origin of the renal arteries.
