METHOD FOR PRESERVING PACIFIC OYSTER CRASSOSTREA GIGAS (TH.) GROWN IN BLACK SEA FROM DAMAGING BY POLYCHAETE WORMS OF THE GENUS POLYDORA

A method for preserving the Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas (Th.), grown in the Black Sea, from damaging by polychaeta worms of the genus Polydora comprises assessing the damage of the oysters by polydoras and treating thereof. The treatment of moisten oysters is carried out with dry table salt (NaCl) in an equivalent of 817 g salt (NaCl) per 1 mof area of a fish-pond. The durability of treatment depends on air temperature: at 13-14 °C - 5 hrs; 18- - 4 hrs; 25- 2.5 hrs. The treatment calendar is related with the propagation cycle of polydora and biotechnique of growing: settling the oysters and preserving thereof from eating by the predatory gastropod mollusk Rapana.
