A share-path-based ring network tunnel configuration method, a ring network protection method and system, using the off-ring node of an on-ring service as a destination node, and configuring a share-path-based working tunnel and a reversely closed protection tunnel corresponding to the working tunnel. In the technical solution, a plurality of MP2P share paths are established on one ring, and each share path can bear the services entering the ring from one or more nodes and getting off the ring from a same node, thus avoiding the complexity of ring network tunnel configuration, improving protection handoff performance and optimizing configuration.
